Univeristy of York Postgraduate Forum

August 7, 2012

Centre for Eighteenth Century Studies – University of York

The CECS Postgraduate Forum is a student-lead interdisciplinary research group that meets on Tuesdays, 4-6pm, four times a term, to listen to and discuss papers from fellow York postgrads, students from other universities, and visiting professors, in a relaxed and friendly environment. The Forum is a perfect opportunity for students to practise conference papers, share ideas for dissertations, and gather feedback on essays and chapters in an informal and supportive atmosphere. The Forum is held at the Centre for Eighteenth Century Studies at King’s Manor, a leading centre for interdisciplinary research in the long eighteenth century.

We are currently looking for students to present papers in the autumn, spring, and summer terms. Any topic relating to the long eighteenth century is welcome, and papers are usually 20 or 40 minutes in length.

If you would like to get in touch about presenting a paper, email Lucy Hodgetts:

You can take a look at examples of past papers on the CECS website:

And keep up to date with what’s happening by joining us on Facebook:

We look forward to hearing from you!
